The world has come to know and be captivated by four generations of the Chevrolet Camaro; each one has been distinguished from all the others. Initially, this car was introduced to the American public and the rest of the continent in early '67. The Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors was the first to present this car. It was fated to be a rival to Ford's Mustang. It was built on the exact same F Body Platform, which was from General Motors; it also shared major components from the Pontiac Firebird. That's the reason why so many people who have come to know and to remember the Chevrolet Camaro, think of this car as the sister car to the Firebird.

At that time, the Chevrolet Camaro was considered a compact automobile. In no time at all, however, it was being considered a pony car. The implication was that it became a rival of Ford's Mustang. Apart from that notoriety, the Chevy Camaro was additionally categorized as a mid-sized touring vehicle and sports car, along with a muscle car. However, the career for this car came to a close in 2002.

The first generation of this car was available from 1967 to 1970. It featured unibody construction -- all the way from front to back. An isolated steel rail subframe was in place for everything located in the front. It was lean and mean, though the steering function was a bit sluggish and laborious. In the mid-Seventies, the second incarnation of the Chevrolet Camaro rolled out of the factory. This second group had a styling that was inspired by the work of Ferrari. It became much larger and weighed much more. But, for this reason, the Chevrolet Camaro lost some power.

This second generation came to an end in 1981. From '82 till '92 a third generation of Chevrolet Camaros was in the spotlight. Before these Camaros, there had not been a US-made car produced without front subframes or leaf spring rear suspensions. In addition, they were the first batch of Chevrolet Camaros to feature factory fuel injection, 4-speed automatic, 5-speed manual, 4-cylinder motors, 16-inch tires, and hatchback frames. In terms of the final generation of this car, it was around from 1993 to 2002. It featured new plastic front fenders, short and long arm front suspensions, rack and pinion steering, along with a streamlined new style that appealed to a greater number of customers.
