The classic 1967 Chevrolet Camaro...

The classic 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, having earned widespread admiration, makes a terrific rental vehicle. This car is so coveted that it has inspired songs, like "Go Lil Camaro, Go" by The Ramones, "Camaro", by Kings of Leons, and "Racing in the Streets", by Bruce Springsteen. The iconic model that it is, the Camaro was also featured in the popular video game series Gran Turismo, L.A. Rush, the series of Need for Speed, and the Sega game, GT 2002. The main reason why you should rent this car when you come to Las Vegas is the vehicle mode of the Bumblebee character in the 2007, hit movie, Trasformers, is as you probably guessed, a Chevrolet, Camaro.

Before becoming a Hollywood celebrity in its own right, the Chevy Camaro was a simple pony car produced by General Motor's Chevrolet division. The Camaro was released for general sale as the 1967 model on September 26th of 1966. Chevrolet's Camaro was touted as the Ford Mustang's new competition on the block.

This was due to the fact that an automotive reporter once asked the Chevrolet product mangers what a Camaro is, and they told them that a Camaro is "a vicious, small animal that eats Mustangs." All jokes aside, in French, a Camaro is a slang term for "friend" or "companion". The Camaro was similar to the Pontiac Firebird which was released in 1967, as well. Depending on the selection of equipment options, the vehicles may be classified as sporty muscle cars, or economic grand touring cars. The Camaro, available in Z28 and IROC versions, was more urbane than the brutish Mustang. A Pony car is a compact, inexpensive, stylish vehicle, with a sporty image, built for performance.

However, the original Bumblebee in the animation series was played by a Volkswagen Beetle. The director, Michael Bay, settled on it because the vehicle was reminiscent of Herbie the Love Bug. So, the Camaro took on the role of the popular Bumblebee because of its friendlier look; specifically that the character's inspiring factor was Spielberg's character persona. As long as the Bumblebee remained yellow and true to its roots, Hasbro did not dispute the changes.

Thus, we have offered the reasons for coming to Las Vegas and availing yourself of the city's wide selection of luxury, sports, and classic rental cars.
